Seminar Series

Do you teach a University Studies 1C Writing course? If so, please join us for a seminar series on teaching writing in US 1C courses. This fall’s theme, The Reading/Writing Connection, draws on current scholarship to discuss the role of reading in undergraduate writing courses and how teachers can help demystify the reading/writing process.

Sign up to attend one or all of these activities:

  • Pre-keynote reading group. Read and discuss research to prepare for keynote address.
  • Keynote Address by Ellen C. Carillo, PhD: October 24 at 4 pm (location TBD)
  • Post-keynote discussions on how to apply the research to your classroom

For more information, please contact Alexis Teagarden (ateagarden@umassd.edu) or Karen Gulbrandsen (kgulbrandsen@umassd.edu).

This series is funded by the Provost’s Seminar Series, UMass Dartmouth.
